HOW DO WE COLLECT THE PRICES ?
 |
Products are displayed according to the Product Family Grouping /
Category, followed by the row depending on the capacity or packaging size taking
into consideration the shelf maximum weight and space optimization.
Efficiency in Grocery Price Checking require specific skills and knowledge in
identifying the "search item".
We always aim to make a fair comparison. If the price checkers can't
find the product in the same size in a competitor's stores, we will
take the nearest size and convert the price pro-rata. If there is no
size that will fairly compare with the product, then we do not
include it. If a product is price marked and a different price is
shown on the shelf then the lower price is taken.

UNDERSTAND THE HYPERMARKET LAYOUT
Typical hypermarket floor layout can be likened to a modern township with its
designated entry and exist points, systematic traffic controls to ensure smooth
flow of shoppers through its network of aisles and directional signage. Hence,
the layout of a hypermarket is designed to encourage shoppers to walk through or
visit as many sections as possible. Due to space constraint in a given floor,
products displayed on the shelf need to fulfill three(3) criteria:
(1) Variety
|
Refers to product offerings to
shoppers that consist of different brands, flavors, capacity or
packaging sizes
|
(2)
Fast-moving
|
Refers to products that have a short
shelf life and high liquidity. Fast turnover to cash form
|
(3)
Completeness
|
Refers to availability of products
on offer that fulfill the daily grocery needs of an average shopper
which could range from toilet paper to canned food
